Plugging it in will give device power and you can look up what firmware it has on it already. This will tell you whether you have an enhanced or non-enhanced version. On SCT SF3/X3, select “Device Info” and write all this info down, specifically noting the current firmware version. When the software is finished, it will go back to its main page. Plug in your SCT device and allow Windows to install more drivers. Once finished, select “Automatically Check for Updates”. The program will then identify the SCT device. You will then be notified if the device is up-to-date or it needs an update.
- I think SCT are trying to get people to trade up so that they don't have as many frustrated customers due to the glitchy nature of the early X3's, it's probably costing a bunch to keep up with the tech support. They do offer a trade in program but a lot of days I wonder why I haven't switched to HP tuners.

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 quad cab 318 with the 'death flash' and it already scratches the tires pretty good with the cold air intake and shorty headers i have on the truck, but now that I've gotten rid of the 'death flash' with the SCT tuner its hard to keep my foot out of the gas pedal! it burns the tires like nothing now! Awesome off the line acceleration! it woke up my truck quite a bit! its hard to believe i'm only on the 91 octane tune right now! Im curious to see what the 93 octane tune has in store;) I DEFINANTLY recommend this tuner!!! best $265 bucks I've spent on my truck so far!!

I just finished taking a drive after uploading the programmer into my 2001 dodge ram 318. (Installed the recommended 160 degree thermostat as well) All I can say is that this programmer exceeded all of my expectations! It is actually hilarious that a 318 full size 4 door RAM SPORT can chirp the tires when launching! Thank you very much Sean for the awesome programmer!!!!!

Very impressed with how easy this product installed. Crazy big difference in overall performance, totally different truck to drive cant recomend this tuner enough.
