Working in the scientific or engineering field usually requires you to perform advanced calculations and apply specific mathematical formulas.
While some of them can be easily memorized, certain formulas are highly complicated and might require you to rely on specialized tools. Fortunately, if you find yourself in the situation above, you can rely on WordMat.
Note that since it is an add-in, WordMat requires Microsoft Word in order to run as intended.
Confusing interface
Although it was designed to help you solve complex equations, some of this utility's functions might be difficult to understand, as certain sections are displayed in Danish.
For instance, when inserting an exponential function, you can view that the corresponding caption for each item is written in Danish. More so, the physics and chemistry formula manuals are also written in the same language, thus providing limited accessibility, unless you are familiar with the language.
Numerous functions
This add-in provides you with numerous complex tools that can aid you, ranging from simple formula libraries to advanced calculator functions, graph generators, plots and regression tables.
You can solve complicated equations by relying on the powerful dedicated tool that allows you to process your content in various ways. It is possible to handle your project by using the standard numerical method, eliminating variables, testing if certain statements are true or false and solving entire equation systems.
Comprehensive configuration window
WordMat allows you to adjust numerous parameters, including unit types, exact values, precision, separators, graph handlers or backup, according to your needs.
Additionally, you can access a tool that helps you calculate a triangle's sides and angles after you specify some of them. The result can be inserted into your document, prior to solving it.
To sum it up, WordMat is a reliable Microsoft Word add-in that can help you solve advanced math equations while also providing you with numerous complex tools. However, you should be aware that some of its functions are available in Danish only, thus limiting its overall accessibility.

This release mainly fixes bugs from the previous major release, such as problems with logarithms and using exact mode on the Mac version, but also several other minor bugs. This version introduces one new feature: An updated Excel sheets to easily do regression and plot residuals. It can be a tool for both mathematics and science subjects to make graphing in Excel easier and better looking.
You open the Excel sheet from the regressions menu or the Graph menu.
- Enter up to 3 datasets which shows up as points in different colors
- Perform 'on the fly' regression, quickly testing the match of different regression types
- Residual plot to better analyze the regression fit
- Manually enter any function (here the black dashed linje 2x+3)
You can enter a function using constants which then can be manipulated in the constants column for a precise fit. - Highlight any point (the red dashed line)
